Will Stanton discovers he is a warrior for The Light in The Seeker: The Dark is Rising
Will Stanton is having a tough time.
The 13-year-old boy is the youngest of nine siblings, he’s got a wicked crush on a girl who is “out of his league” and his body is feeling strange, like there’s energy running through his veins. That energy suddenly erupts when Will finds he can move objects — including people — with his mind!

It’s scary to realize you have powers that you can’t explain.
But there is someone who can explain Will’s predicament, a mysterious man named Merriman. Merriman invites Will to his mansion and there he reveals the truth to Will — he is an Old One, a member of an ancient clan whose members possess powers of The Light, and who are destined to battle against The Dark. The Dark side is led by a great Lord of the Dark, The Black Rider, who wants nothing more than to destroy the Old Ones.
Will is also told he is a Sign Seeker, and it’s his task to travel through time and collect the Things of Power, which will be needed when The Old Ones take on The Dark in one, final battle.

Suddenly, Will has gone from being a regular kid to a time-travelling, supreme being dedicated to defeating Dark forces and keeping the world we know safe from evil.
