A Return Journey

The Pevensie children return to Narnia where they help a prince regain his throne

The last time we saw the Pevensie kids — Edmund, Peter, Lucy and Susan — they had rid the frozen land of Narnia of the White Witch and taken their places as monarchs of the strange land.

Then, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe ended with the children accidentally returning to our world through the wardrobe and realizing that, although many years had passed in Narnia, hardly any time at all had passed in England, where they lived before finding the wardrobe.

After having had the most incredible adventure, filled with mythical creatures and, of course, the great lion Aslan, the siblings spent the next year back in our world, living as regular children.

But now, as The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian begins, the kids are pulled back to Narnia, and it’s no longer a cold, frozen place — it’s warm, lush and tropical! Another surprise — instead of one single year, in Narnia, 1,300 years have passed since the Pevensies were last here.

Unfortunately, the lovely weather doesn’t mean things are rosy in Narnia. Once again, a tyrannical villain has forced Narnia’s rightful ruler into hiding.

This time, it’s a young prince named Caspian who should be in charge instead of his evil uncle, Miraz. Worse, Miraz is plotting to kill the prince and make his own infant son the future King of Narnia.

Edmund, Peter, Lucy and Susan have to make new alliances to bring peace back to their old home. Fortunately, they find friends in the Black Dwarf Nikabrik, a talking mouse named Reepicheep and the badger Trufflehunter.

Chances are, they’ll need help from that old lion, too.
