indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull
Skullduggery!
Indiana Jones returns to the big screen to search for a skull that possesses supernatural powers
Indiana Jones looks just like any other mild-mannered Professor of Archaeology. But he has a secret — every so often the professor exchanges his tweed suit for a pair of khaki pants and a fedora hat to become a fearless treasure hunter!
His adventures have been captured on screen in three action-packed movies — Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. That last movie was released almost 20 years ago, and no one has seen or heard from Indiana Jones since then.
But now the adventurer returns to the big screen in a new movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The film takes place in 1957. Indy (as his friends call him) is 20 years older, and although he has a touch of grey in his hair and a few more wrinkles, he's just as fearless as ever.
While the Second World War is now history and the Nazis are no longer a threat, America has a new enemy to worry about: the Soviet Union. Americans fear the Soviets and their communist government for many reasons, the main one being they, like the United States, possess nuclear weapons.
It seems the Soviets are also interested in another weapon, a supernatural crystal skull, and that's where Indy comes in. It's his job to make sure the skull doesn't find its way into the hands of the Soviets, who've sent a female agent named Spalko to find the skull.
Indy likes to work alone, but he'll have some company on this adventure. His long-lost love, Marion Ravenwood, makes an appearance, as does the feisty Mutt Williams, a young man who, it turns out, has a lot in common with the famed Indiana Jones.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull opens May 22
