Nancy Drew
Nancy Drew clues in
The teenage detective jumps from the page to the big screen with this murder-mystery set in Los Angeles
You’ve had your day in the sun Cody Banks. You too Alex Rider. It’s time for the girls to do some super-sleuthing. Well, one girl in particular — Nancy Drew.
Never heard of her? We find that hard to believe. Nancy was first conceived in a series of mystery novels back in the 1930s, but new Nancy Drew mysteries continued to be published for decades following.
Now Nancy finds new life in a big-screen movie. As the movie begins, she’s living in the small town of River Heights where she helps the local police force solve crimes. It’s not like she’s on the payroll, she just likes to do it, and they appreciate the help.

But then Nancy and her dad move to the
big city of Los Angeles. Nancy hasn’t lost her knack for sleuthing, but
everything here is, well, bigger and more dangerous. No surprise, Nancy
soon stumbles upon the curious, unsolved case of a murdered movie star.
When she finds new evidence that may crack the case wide open, she
gets sucked deeper and deeper in to the mystery. But this isn’t going
to be an easy one to solve — anyone who’s poked their nose into the
case in the past has been harmed in some way.

She’ll need the help of some pals, including a new friend named Inga
who seems to be more interested in giving Nancy a makeover, and a cute
guy named Ned from River Heights, who clearly has a crush on our very
smart investigator.
Nancy might not have all the gizmos and gadgets of a Banks or a Rider, but make no mistake, this girl can disarm a live bomb in seconds flat. Or at least she’ll try.
Nancy Drew opens June 15.
