An Earth-Shattering Journey!

Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D takes you to a strange world that seems to jump off the screen

If you read Jules Verne’s classic book Journey to the Center of the Earth you know that the story takes place in 1863 and revolves around Professor Lidenbrock, who, along with his nephew Axel and a guide named Hans, travels to the centre of the Earth.

It’s a great story, but since it’s set more than 100 years ago it kinda feels out of date, don’t you think? What this story needs is a 21st-century make-over. And it gets it with the new movie adaptation Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, which, as the title says, is a 3D movie!

In this version, there is still a professor, named Trevor, who believes everything he’s read in the book by Jules Verne is true. However, no one believes him, including his nephew Sean. But Trevor is determined to prove that you can get to the centre of the Earth by following the plot of the book. So Trevor and Sean fly to Iceland and hire a guide, Hannah, to take them to a volcano crater described in the novel, and using that as their gateway they make their way deep inside the planet’s crust.

Along the way they encounter dinosaurs, giant man-eating plants, huge mushrooms, flying fish and a whole bunch of weird creatures that look as if they are coming right at you thanks to the amazing digital 3D technology!
