Home Alone
A lonely robot left by himself on Earth hitches a ride into space in WALL•E
Have you ever become bored doing the same chores over and over again? How many times have you made your bed, washed the dishes or taken out the garbage?
Now imagine doing those chores for 700 years!
That’s what WALL•E’s life is like.
WALL•E is a robot whose name stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class. He was built by humans to pick up and bundle trash. But when a disaster threatened Earth, mankind was forced to abandon the planet. They took everything they needed and travelled into space looking for a new home.
However, they didn’t take WALL•E, and they didn’t remember to turn him off. So for the past seven centuries he’s been picking up garbage all alone, except for a pet cockroach that keeps him company.
Then one day the most amazing thing happens. A spaceship lands on Earth and out comes a sleek robot named EVE. While exploring the Earth and getting to know WALL•E she realizes that he’s stumbled upon a way to make the planet safe for humans! She returns to her spaceship so she can race back and tell the remaining humans — who now live light-years away — that they can go back home.
But she doesn’t leave alone. WALL•E can’t bear the thought of being abandoned a second time so he hitches a ride on her spaceship and begins the most amazing journey of his long, long life!
