It was as if someone had cast a Spell of Disappointment over each and every Harry Potter fan.
That’s what it felt like when fans learned Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
was not going to open as planned on November 21, 2008, but had been delayed until July 15, 2009. But the wait is almost over, and the excitement
is really building for the sixth Harry Potter film!
Many of you have read the book, maybe a long time ago, so here’s a quick look at what takes
place in Harry’s life at this point in the series.
In his sixth year at Hogwarts, Harry is still depressed over the death of his beloved godfather, Sirius Black. But he can’t focus on that since Dumbledore needs Harry’s help. Together, the professor and student delve into Lord Voldemort’s painful childhood to find clues about where the
Evil One has hidden his Horcruxes, the objects containing pieces of his soul.
And there is another mystery to solve — who is the Half-Blood Prince? His name was inscribed in
a book given to Harry by Professor Slughorn, and Hermoine, Ron and Harry are desperate to discover his identity.
Oh, and let’s not forget all the romantic
mash-ups taking place in the halls of Hogwarts — Hermoine likes Ron, but Ron is still smarting over Hermoine’s fling with Viktor Krum and is dating Lavender Brown, while Harry falls for Ginny!
