Zac Falls For Footloose

Since Mamma Mia! and HSM3 made a bundle at the box office, movie studios are looking to make more musicals, and the one star they’re sure will draw crowds to the local cineplex is Zac Efron. Zac has signed on to star as Ren McCormack in the remake of the 1984 film Footloose.

 
The original filmed starred Kevin Bacon as Ren, a teenager from the big city who moves to a small town where rock music and dancing are banned. Dance-crazy Ren won’t stand for that, and he urges the town’s teens to join him in rebelling against the ludicrous law. The new Footloose will hit theatres sometime in 2010.
